10 About is an infinitely interesting series on The Digital Beat. In each post, they highlight 10 things you probably didn't know about topics as varied cigarettes, black holes, and Steve Jobs, Apple CEO.
Last week they posted a list dispelling commonly-held myths about the differences between the male and female bodies. Here's some highlights:
1. Women might be the stronger sex.
2. Men have a higher pain threshold than women.
3. Women have a stronger immune system, which is possibly why they live longer.
5. Women have only been included in drug trials for the past 20 years, as before then, doctors didn't realize that their bodies processed drugs differently than men's bodies.
9. A woman's skin is more likely to become wrinkled than a man's.
10.On a man's hand, the fourth finger is typically longer than the second. On a woman's hand, the second is usually longer than the fourth.
Who knew? The top 2 were ideas instilled in me from the very beginnings of childhood. I couldn't believe they weren't true!
